Teams can now access my camera, and Microsoft Teams now appears under 'Allow desktop apps to access camera.Relaunched Microsoft Teams (with new Microsoft Remote Desktop session obviously).Restarted my PC, with toes and fingers crossed.Sorry, I didn't check this before, timestamp MAY indicate Skype activated it - but that may be red-herring. Noticed in Device Manager my 'FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in)' now visible under 'Remote Desktop Camera devices'.'Skype for Business' now appears under 'Allow desktop apps to access your camera' in Privacy settings for camera.

I actually would use the Mac mini with a pair of homepods instead of HDMI audio.ĭoes this work? Or are there still software issues with all 3rd party webcams and FaceTime?ĮDIT: okay now I understand the mics are built into the webcams. The problem is it seems webcams with FaceTime seem to use the internal horrible speaker in the Mac Mini. Which will get redesigned within the year to a much smaller, lighter cabinet but not a huge loss. So I decided to not invest in an AIO where the $800 extra will be outdated within the year. The iMac has all the signs of this happening again.

Had to upgrade within a year they were so half baked. I made that mistake on iPad gen 1 and a MacBook Air gen 1. It will be superseded and abandoned in a year like every first generation Apple product. I waited for the M1 iMac announcement and I realized this is going to be a dead end device. Bought M1 Mac Mini and returned it in anticipation of the iMac announcement.
